Arctic Circlings
Dr. Dianne Chisholm

Arctic Circlings features photographic meditations on "the Arctic" - what it is and what it is becoming - drawn from recent travels in Greenland, Iceland, northern Canada, northern Norway, and the Antarctic Peninsula. Dianne Chisholm will speak briefly to the politics and aesthetics of combining landscape photography and prose poetry to evoke critical environmental sensibilities, before proceeding to her slide show/poetry reading.

Dianne Chisholm is a Professor Emeritus of English and Film Studies at the University of Alberta. She has published extensively in the environmental humanities, modernist poetics, feminist theory and criticism, and queer cultural studies. A life-long mountaineer and adventurer, she is currently working on various projects involving Arctic travel, landscape photography and creative writing
