Our drinking water comes from the North Saskatchewan River, whose origins, or headwaters, are adjacent to the Rocky Mountains, in an area called the Bighorn Backcountry. The Bighorn helps clean and purify our water while providing important habitat for at-risk species, ecosystem services, and mitigating against floods and droughts. But it is currently unprotected and is at risk from industrial development. Drop-in to our Conversation Café and share your thoughts, feelings, and curiosities about protecting the source of Edmonton’s water.
