International Mountain Day 2018 - #MountainsMatter

Designated by the United Nations "#MountainsMatter" has been chosen as the International Mountain Day theme for 2018 to encourage everyone to share why mountains are important to them across all social media platforms.

Sharing these stories will encourage a social momentum, bringing the importance of mountains to the attention of policy makers increasing the level of conversation about the protection and conservation of mountains, the people, animals, and environments that mountain spaces support.

The #MountainsMatter hash tag will also allow the entire world to collectively celebrate mountains. The Canadian Mountain Network will also be promoting International Mountain Day celebrations across the country through our Events Calendar.
